Strange fact about Béziers
Béziers is a superb destination for a weekend or a stay. It’s also the birthplace of Marguerite Gourdan, a key figure in her time. Eloping to Paris in 1760 with a young officer, she established her first brothel and received many of the kingdom’s most distinguished gentlemen, making her fortune and her reputation as a matchmaker.
