Discover Plaisir in a week
Family visit to Plaisir
The peaceful town of Plaisir is well worth a weekend visit. Its points of interest are all within easy reach of your hotel. The most famous is undoubtedly its castle. Dating back to the 17th century, it’s now listed as a historic monument and is home to a theater, media library, conservatoire and more. For the full experience, take a walk in its grounds — they’re open to the public. Plaisir is also home to a manor house where the town council is based, a church, and three restored wash houses.
Drop your cases in your hotel room, and head out to explore Plaisir. During your stay, squeeze a visit in to the 17th-century castle, church and wash houses. The Île-de-France region is full of historic and natural attractions. A week here means you’ll have plenty of time to visit Versailles and its château, just six miles from your hotel. For a break away from city life, head to the lush green woods of Sainte-Apolline and Cranne. Found yourself with an appetite after your excursions? Treat yourself to some culinary specialties at Plaisir’s indoor market.
Traveling with your family? You can be sure of a warm welcome at our Première Classe hotels for both you and your children. Check out our comfortable rooms before heading off to enjoy Plaisir. The pretty little town has all sorts of facilities for both children and adults. The exhibitions, storytelling and workshops at the Media Library will keep visitors of all ages busy for hours. There’s also plenty of fun to be had at the pool and bowling alley, both super close to your hotel. If it’s fresh air you’re after, the surrounding countryside is crisscrossed with pathways that are perfect for family walks.

Discover the gastronomy of Plaisir
Wake up to breakfast every morning for a perfect, gentle start to the day. It’s served as an all-you-can-eat buffet at your hotel. The region of Île-de-France is famous for its delicious culinary specialties. You’ll find bouchées à la reine, fresh pea soup, rabbit stew, Coulommiers and Brie on the menu at many restaurants. Meanwhile, local desserts — such as Paris-Brest, Saint-Honoré, savarin and chouquettes — have become staples of French cuisine.

Must-sees in Plaisir
Check in with our team to find out what’s on during your stay in Plaisir. The town hosts all sorts of accessible, family-friendly events: from concerts to plays, sports games and more. At the start of the summer there’s also the Escales d'Ailleurs world arts festival. Founded in 2002, it has fast become Plaisir’s must-see event. Music and gourmet food take festival-goers on a journey around the world, from the comfort of the castle grounds.

Might the city of Plaisir be the inspiration for careers as well? Several French celebrities have spent some of their childhood there, including actors Jean Dujardin and Guillaume Canet. It’s also famous for its culinary arts school. This was opened in 1971 by Gaston Lenôtre, a world-renowned pastry chef. Plaisir also enjoys a claim to fame as a setting for Claude Berri’s film ‘Le Maître d'école’ and Guillaume Canet’s ‘Tell No One’.
